Our Specialities

At Foundation Schooling, we have some special features that make us stand out from other schools. Here are some of them:

  • Child-centred institution: We respect and value each child as an individual with unique abilities, interests, and needs. We provide a personalized and differentiated learning experience for every child, and help them discover and develop their potential.
  • Parent-teacher partnership: We believe that parents and teachers are the most important partners in the education of a child. We involve parents and teachers in the school activities and decision-making processes, and seek their feedback and suggestions for the improvement of the school. We also conduct regular meetings, workshops, and events to keep them updated and engaged with the school.
  • No classrooms, only 8 work stations: We do not confine our students to traditional classrooms, but instead provide them with 8 different work stations based on the theory of Multiple Intelligences. These work stations are designed to cater to the various learning styles and preferences of our students, and to stimulate their curiosity and creativity. The work stations are:
  • Linguistic: This work station focuses on developing the language and communication skills of our students, through activities such as reading, writing, storytelling, poetry, etc.
  • Logical-mathematical: This work station focuses on developing the logical and mathematical skills of our students, through activities such as puzzles, games, experiments, etc.
  • Spatial: This work station focuses on developing the spatial and visual skills of our students, through activities such as drawing, painting, sculpting, etc.
  • Bodily-kinesthetic: This work station focuses on developing the physical and motor skills of our students, through activities such as dancing, yoga, sports, etc.
  • Musical: This work station focuses on developing the musical and auditory skills of our students, through activities such as singing, playing instruments, listening to music, etc.
  • Interpersonal: This work station focuses on developing the social and emotional skills of our students, through activities such as role-playing, group work, peer learning, etc.
  • Intrapersonal: This work station focuses on developing the self-awareness and self-regulation skills of our students, through activities such as meditation, reflection, journaling, etc.
  • Naturalistic: This work station focuses on developing the environmental and ecological skills of our students, through activities such as gardening, nature walks, animal care, etc.
  • Value-based education: We instill in our students the core values of respect, responsibility, honesty, kindness, and compassion, through our curriculum and pedagogy. We also expose them to the diverse cultures and traditions of India and the world, and teach them to appreciate and celebrate diversity.
  • Manners and etiquettes: We teach our students the basic manners and etiquettes that are essential for their personal and social development, such as greeting, thanking, apologizing, sharing, helping, etc. We also teach them the appropriate behaviour and conduct for different situations and contexts, such as home, school, public places, etc.
  • 5S and Kaizen: We follow the Japanese principles of 5S and Kaizen to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient learning environment. 5S stands for Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain, and Kaizen means continuous improvement. We involve our students and staff in the process of applying these principles to our school, and encourage them to adopt them in their daily lives as well.
  • Divergent thinking: We foster the divergent thinking skills of our students, which are the ability to generate multiple and creative solutions to a problem or a challenge. We provide our students with open-ended and exploratory tasks that require them to use their imagination and originality. We also encourage them to question, challenge, and critique the existing ideas and assumptions, and to come up with their own perspectives and opinions.
  • Theatre therapy: We use theatre as a medium of therapy and healing for our students, especially those who face emotional or psychological issues. We use various techniques and methods of theatre, such as drama, puppetry, mime, etc., to help our students express their feelings, emotions, and thoughts, and to cope with their stress and trauma. We also use theatre as a tool for learning and development, as it enhances the cognitive, linguistic, social, and artistic skills of our students.
  • No homework, only home assignments: We do not burden our students with homework, which is often repetitive and boring, and which takes away their time and energy from other activities. Instead, we give them home assignments, which are meaningful and engaging tasks that extend their learning beyond the school. These assignments are based on their interests and passions, and allow them to explore and learn at their own pace and style.
  • No exams, only grading with the performance of multiple activities: We do not conduct exams, which are often stressful and anxiety-inducing, and which measure only a limited aspect of the student’s learning. Instead, we grade our students based on their performance of multiple activities, which are varied and comprehensive, and which reflect their holistic development. These activities include projects, portfolios, presentations, exhibitions, etc., which showcase their knowledge, skills, and competencies.
